This article from the Harvard Review of Economics and Statistics is listed as one of the most read articles. It caught my eye because it is about former Yugoslavia, which is where I am from. Moreover, my second master’s thesis was about brain drain from Serbia, meaning that I already have an interest and some prior knowledge in this area. I am interested in this article because it is about an economic issue in a political and historical context, not vacuum.

The beginning of this semester was a time when I attended a number of webinars, on a variety of topics, generally about education in China, through Venture Education.
I have already completed the AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics seminars in 2021.
For this summer I was hoping to complete the teacher certification in my subject area, and deepen my knowledge about AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics, now that I have 3 years of experience under my belt. I’ve registered to do a 4-day webinar in early July. This will be organized by the St Lous FED, whose resources I regularly use, so I am hoping to learn more about it and become more proficient at finding the right stuff for my lessons.
In the middle-term I’d like to perhaps add to my skill set by doing a seminar or certification in a tangential area, such as Business Management, or a sub-area within Economics. One of my goals is to teach IB curriculum, so I’ll do what I can independently, until I am given an opportunity to take the official IB courses through an IB-certified school.
In the long term, it would be interesting to continue working on my teaching skills, and Moreland University MA program seems like an interesting option. Alternatively, I could take the route towards getting the QTS.

The scavenger hunt I organized for my students' social and emotional learning had them assemble 5 items:
1 skill that helps you learn and be productive. It can be a skill you have, one you are working on, or a skill you want to build.
SKILL, noun: Capacity to do something well; technique, ability. Skills are usually acquired or learned, as opposed to abilities, which are often thought of as innate.
1 item that will help you survive and thrive abroad. Not your phone or laptop.
Take a photo of it, or bring it to class.
1 photo of all the things you carry in your pockets every day.
1 person you can talk to about anything openly, without trying to look good in their eyes. Alternatively, 1 person that makes you feel good about who you are. Take a picture of them right after you tell them how much they mean to you.
1 role model – a person you want to be like, and short explanation of what is inspiring to you about this person.
Here is one example:

We carried out the implicit bias test from Harvard, about stereotypes and bias towards race (between white and black people): https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html
We discussed the results in class. The students' results were in line with the global averages.

A great cohort!

This is Heran, an English Teacher at my school, who is also my teammate at a local Ultimate Frisbee club called Air Fly.

Disc sports are becoming very popular in recent years, and our students play in the schoolyard during breaks between classes.

The biggest challenge for me was finishing. I started the Clinical Practice strong and stayed ahead of the curve for around 2 months, and then I crashed. What got me through is the support from my wife and my mentor. TeachNow was very accommodating and helped relieve the pressure, too.
9.
My professional ethic would be role modeling, because relationships with students are very important to me: I strive to demonstrate positive behaviors and attitudes, serving as a role model for students in both academic and personal conduct.
